Personal vs. Personnel

請特別注意單字拼法及重音！"Personnel" 是名詞指的是公司的員工。例如"Our company has the best personnel in the industry." 重音在字尾。"Personal" 是形容詞是指私人的或是個人的。 "I'm requesting a day of annual leave for personal reasons." 重音字首。如果你不小心，你會說成一個"personal meeting" 而不是一個"personnel meeting."

Executive

一位"executive"是指公司的某個管理人員。如果你正向訪客或是顧客介紹你公司的頂尖executives，小心你的發音！如果重音在"u"，那麼 "executive"剎那間聽起來像是"execute"-殺或置人於死。

Present? Presentate? Presentation?

當你在做presentation的時候你需要present你的資料Present是動詞指的是介紹某樣東西或引起某人對某物的關注。一個presentation 是一種常用在商業上用來介紹新資訊的固定形式。很多人-即使一些說英文的外籍人士-認為"presentate" 是"presentation." 的一種動詞形式。不要再犯同樣的錯誤！

"I look forward to hearing from you."

這個片語通常使用在商業書信的結尾。但是英文學習者經常會寫，"I look forward to hear from you."這並不正確而且讓以英文為母語的外籍人士聽起來覺得很滑稽。這個動詞"hear"必須要加上"ing"在這片語上。

Headquarters and Information

有很多英文學習者會去掉"headquarters"的"s"然後把"information"加上"s"這兩個字都不正確。Headquarters是單數名詞指的是一家公司的總部： "I'm going to headquarters this weekend to meet with the CEO."總部這個字是很弔軌的因為它的字尾是"s"。看起來像複數名詞！但是去掉"s"將headquarters變成動詞"to headquarter."

另一方面，很多學習者會在資訊這個字的字尾加上"s"。大部分的人推斷如果他們需要很多資訊，他們就會改為複數，例如，"I need informations on overseas study programs."但是資訊是不可數名詞(資訊這個字是沒有複數形式的)。你所能說的就是"I need some information. "
